| | | IF YOUR IDEA DOESN’T DISRUPT, IT ISN’T BIG ENOUGH |
| | | Every successful business leader I know began by questioning and “disrupting” a rule that others treated as permanent. Where markets evolve dynamically, technologies shift drastically, and consumer behaviour never really stands still, disruption is a disciplined and strategic refusal to accept inherited limits. In such an environment, the entrepreneur who simply adapts will always follow, but the entrepreneur who dares to disrupt is the one who leads. Disruption signals to the market that you are here to redefine and achieve nothing less.
Now, there is an unimaginable number of ways in which entrepreneurs could disrupt. Franchising, for instance, is one of the greatest disruptions in business, as it accelerated scale and allowed individuals to become business owners without designing any of the operational frameworks from scratch. Many of today’s strongest global brands grew because franchising turned their model into an engine of replication and scale.
Further, entrepreneurs can also disrupt by identifying friction points in customer journeys, by making a product accessible to a new income segment, or by delivering consistency in industries that are known for unpredictability. Entrepreneurs can disrupt supply chains by sourcing smarter and reducing waste, and they can disrupt by offering authenticity in markets that are drowning in generic communication. |

|
| | | All it takes to build something lasting is seeking the idea that deserves to be challenged and executing that act of challenging with discipline and clarity. |
| INNOVATION
Not everything should be disrupted or overturned, as some systems exist because they are already efficient and profitable. So, the entrepreneur’s intelligence mainly lies in knowing what to preserve and what to challenge. Disrupt where there is friction, waste, or an underserved customer, but protect what delivers value. True innovation is always selective. |

This year, the challenge was to cover a 100-kilometre journey over a span of two days, bringing together students, alumni, and faculty, and, as always, it was more about the spirit than the steps taken. | | |

| | | | | Something big is coming up very soon! When I talk about creating one crore new entrepreneurs who can survive beyond their first five years and make a real impact on the Indian economy, I also emphasise the power of the franchising model to help make that possible. There are many reasons for that, and you will discover them in the upcoming announcement. | | |
